The Vulcan is a double-tapered,big-game lure with a slant angle on the nose, embodying many attributes of several shapes from the history of lure making. It's a medium-sized diving lure which is renowned for getting down to a good depth without acrobatics.

In action it is a solid, steady pusher, with a great surface action before it disappears. A relatively new addition to our range, it has a combinations of features and tapers which sets it apart from some other lures of this type. A smaller face, some subtle rear taper and a long nose give the lure stability whilst still allowing for a "shimmer" underwater. It is a prime short bait in almost any weather, and it excels as a rigger bait in calm to moderate conditions. Some crews also find it runs well in their wakes off the rod-tip. One of the easier angled-face lures to run, the Vulcan can be relied on to provide a spectacular return of results without undue attention  -  it will raise some mighty big fish on that short corner, so beware the user who likes to fish light !

The Vulcan travels well and is being used by a growing number of boats worldwide. Crews in Hawaii, New Zealand, the Cape Verdes and Madeira can all attest to its effectiveness and we have no doubt it will be a great long-term performer as a tournament bait. It makes a fine bridge teaser.

The Vulcan is best suited for 50 - 130lb tackle, and will take 9/0 hooks and up in size. It can be run effectively to about 12 knots. The #60 series lure is approximately 14½" long and can take 900lb mono leader. It is keeled to achieve best results. The #50 series lure is slightly smaller at 12" or so.
